15 Albums in 15 Minutes

Most of you who use Facebook have seen this:

The rules: Don’t take too long to think about it. Fifteen albums you’ve heard that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes. Tag fifteen friends, including me, because I’m interested in seeing what albums my friends choose. Quickly, and in no particular order.

Or something like that.  It’s a time honored tradition to slyly gloat about one’s musical influences over the internet.  One glance at any douchebag’s profile will reveal the human’s deep seated need to reveal the breadth, diversity, and sophistication of one’s media intake.

This particular meme has caught on quickly in my circle of friends, and yours too, I suspect (since your reading this puts you in my circle).  Rather than respond with my own vainglorious summary of my exquiseclectic tastes, I gathered up lists posted by 40 random strangers and made a word cloud:

I like it.  It’s not a list or anything, but I think I see where everybody’s coming from: Beatles, Michael, Radiohead, Paul (McCartney and Simon), even Various Artists for all those soundtracks.  Not too many albums stand out on their own, except maybe the White Album, which I can agree with, and Love, which is all you need.

Add your own list to the comments so that people will know how much you know about Arcade Fire and 80′s hip-hop.  Also acceptable: 15 reasons why chain-lists are asinine and yet they feel so so good.
